At some point, each part of our living spaces, both indoors and out, has been used for art projects. Other people may have Dream Houses, we have Dream Studios. In the spirit of embracing virtual space, we will use this website as another studio. We see the blog articles as an opportunity to cultivate our photography skills and expand new creative horizons.

There is a reason this website is Metcalf Studios plural.
Artists Allyson and Kristin Metcalf are sisters who were essentially raised in studios by parents who met in the Art Dept. at College.
The start of their careers focused on clay and printmaking. That focus kept expanding to include their interests in glass, metal, fiber, wood, photography and . . .
“Creative” may now be the most accurate description of these sisters.

Yeh! It’s time to decorate the eggs! Photoshop is fun, but it does lack the great smell of vinegar and messy color play that goes with dyeing eggs with food coloring!
